Through WorkSource Atlanta, city of Atlanta residents who are seeking work or who have been laid off from their jobs may be eligible to receive Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding to pay for training in high-demand careers. These education and training services are designed to improve participation in the workforce and lead to higher earnings for individuals who successfully complete the program.

Education and training services are available for a period of two years or less and are provided through the training providers on the Georgia Work Ready Online Participation Portal’s eligible provider list (EPL), available online at

For online or out-of-state training courses, the provider must be listed on the eligible provider list for the state in which it is located in order for participants to be considered for funding.

Eligibility requirements must be met to receive funding for career training.

GED Education Training for Adults:

The WorkSource Atlanta program is committed to serving adults (ages 18 and older) who wish to improve their basic academic skills, such as reading, writing, and math, in order to prepare for the GED test. GED preparation classes are offered at no cost through state-approved adult education programs. These classes are offered onsite every week.
