Training

Through WorkSource Atlanta, city of Atlanta residents seeking work or who have been laid off from their jobs (through no fault of their own), may be eligible to receive Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding to pay for training in high-demand careers. These education and training services are designed to improve participation in the workforce and lead to higher earnings for individuals who complete the program.

Education and training services are available for up to two years and are provided through eligible training providers. Training Providers and schools can be found at the following links:  WSA Training Providers and WorkSource Georgia Resources and Services.

For online or out-of-state training courses, the provider must be listed on the eligible provider list for the state in which it is located for participants to be considered for funding.

Eligibility requirements must be met to receive funding for career training.

The WorkSource Atlanta program is committed to serving adults (ages 18 and older) who wish to improve their basic academic skills, such as reading, writing, and math, to prepare for the GED test. GED preparation classes are offered at no cost through state-approved adult education programs. These classes are offered onsite every week.
